In June of 2022, REA Energy Cooperative, Inc. acquired In the Stix Broadband, LLC (ITX), an independent ISP (Internet Service Provider).
ITX began operating in 2008 on the Cambria Connect network, steadily growing over the years by adding their own towers and repeaters covering most of Cambria County and surrounding counties.
ITX offers internet and phone service. ITX also offers IT services to both residential and commercial customers.
In The Stix is operated as a subsidiary of REA Energy. As such, any inquiries from current or prospective customers of ITX should be directed to 814-472-2662.
In June of 2023, the Indiana County Board of Comissioners voted to approve a contract with REA Energy Cooperative and its wholly-owned subsidiary, In The Stix Broadband LLC to build approximately 130 miles of fiber optic cabling throughout Indiana County, an investment towards a total fiber infrastructure.
