Independent Contractual Mechanic

REA Energy Cooperative, Inc. is seeking an Independent Contractual Mechanic to provide mechanical and repair services for its fleet of motor vehicles and equipment. This engagement is strictly a contractual services arrangement and does not constitute an employment relationship with REA Energy Cooperative, Inc.

Scope of Services

The Contractor shall provide maintenance, mechanical, and repair services for REA Energy’s fleet of motor vehicles. Services may include, but are not limited to, work involving:

• Hydraulic systems

• Gas systems and gas engines

• Diesel engines

• Electrical systems

• Drive trains

• Diagnostic equipment and various hand tools

Qualifications

The Contractor shall possess, or be able to obtain, thorough knowledge and experience in the services described above. Graduation from a vocational or technical school with training in general mechanics, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and welding is preferred; however, equivalent practical experience may be substituted for formal education.

A valid Pennsylvania Safety Mechanic Certification and Class A CDL are required.

The Contractor is solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining all required licenses, certifications, and specified insurance coverage, including but not limited to general liability and any other coverage required by REA Energy. Proof of insurance must be provided upon request.

Fleet management companies, independent mechanics, and other qualified business entities are encouraged to apply. Submissions must be received no later than January 22, 2026.
